Volunteer with the Edmond
Senior Community Foundation
Volunteering will change your life as well as the lives of the people you serve. The Edmond Senior Community Foundation (ESCF) provides two service opportunities, as an event volunteer and/or a volunteer board member.
Event Volunteer
As a volunteer for events you will help the ESCF event coordinator with various fundraising events to raise money to be donated to our selected partners. Events can range from a pancake breakfast to an art auction. ESCF needs assistance with all aspects of event planning and execution.
Volunteer’s Responsibilities
Event volunteers assist on the event day for set-up, guest assistance and registration or clean up. Volunteers may also choose to be involved in event planning. Event volunteers work under the direction of various members of the ESCF event committee, who will provide task-specific training as needed. Event day volunteers will typically be asked to commit at least 3 hours. Participation on an event planning committee will require a larger time commitment over several months.
Board Member Volunteer
As a volunteer serving on the board you will attend board meetings, usually every other month, to ensure the organization is obtaining enough resources to fulfill its mission. Thus, board members are often encouraged, even required, to participate in the fundraising efforts of the organization.
Board members play a key role in soliciting funds, in-kind donations, and pro bono services from individuals, institutions, and corporations. Fundraising encompasses not only the financial aspects of one-on-one solicitations, special events fundraising, and other methods, but also bringing resources and skills into the organization through their own network to further the mission of the organization.
